Vineyards have been selected for their quality and ability to express unique regional flavours.</image:title>
<image:caption>The Season Settled and very hot weather over flowering delivered a bumper fruit set that necessitated considerable crop thinning. A wet and tepid January was followed by variable weather and a cooler than average autumn. Careful management around pick dates and rigorous bunch selection were essential to ensure fruit arriving at the winery was of the highest quality possible. Although sugar ripeness was hindered, physiological ripeness of the fruit was more advanced, favouring delicately nuanced and charming wine styles. The Harvesting and Winemaking We use traditional Burgundian winemaking methods. The fruit was harvested in stages during late March and April, then gently pressed. Afterwards, the non-clarified juice was put into large French oak barrels (puncheons), where it underwent primary fermentation by the grapes’ natural yeasts. The wine was then matured in these barriques on its own yeast lees (sur lie). In late spring after harvest, it started to go through spontaneous secondary (malolactic) fermentation. It was regularly tasted during this time, and the fermentation was stopped when the ideal balance was obtained. The Wine Pale gold in colour, it has a rich and complex nose reminiscent of lemon zest, roasted pineapple and melon, with touches of brioche, hazelnut and wood spice, all vying for attention. The palate is elegantly textured, flaunting liveliness and a vibrancy that dances in the mouth. Discreet creaminess is backed by brilliantly pitched acidity, adding a sense of refreshment and structure on the long, racy finish.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Settled and very hot weather over flowering delivered a bumper fruit set that necessitated considerable crop thinning. Careful management around pick dates and rigorous bunch selection were essential to ensure fruit arriving at the winery was of the highest quality possible. Although sugar ripeness was hindered, physiological ripeness of the fruit was more advanced, favouring delicately nuanced and charming wine styles. The Harvest and Winemaking The grapes were sourced from our own Te Hau vineyard on Georges Road. Fruit was left to hang until a brix level of approximately 22.5 brix was reached, the aim being to add some additional richness in the wine. After gentle pressing of the berries, the free run juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures and bottled shortly after, to retain its zesty aromas and vibrant fruit character. Winemaking intervention was intentionally kept to a minimum to allow the vintage, variety, and vineyards to express themselves harmoniously. The Wine In the glass Main Divide Sauvignon Blanc 2025 presents a brilliant lemon hue. The inviting nose offers zesty impressions of grapefruit, lime peel and lemon balm, anchored with savoury notes of capsicum, crushed thyme, snow pea and fresh hay. The ripe fruit is underlined with taut acidity, which flows on a fine stony mouthfeel, providing a delightful tension. Sleekly textured, the palate swells, then trails away in a cascade of minerals and tangy citrus.</image:caption>

Careful management around pick dates and rigorous bunch selection were essential to ensure fruit arriving at the winery was of the highest quality possible. Although sugar ripeness was hindered, physiological ripeness of the fruit was more advanced, favouring delicately nuanced and charming wine styles. The Harvesting and Winemaking Aiming for a classic Alsatian style with a North Canterbury twist, the fruit was harvested in stages over several weeks to optimise the grapes’ range of natural flavours. After picking, they were gently pressed, and the juice fermented in stainless steel tanks at a cool temperature to retain varietal purity and freshness. The wine was then given a short period of ageing on its natural deposit of yeast lees (sur lie), prior to bottling. At all stages, from fermentation to bottling, the wine was handled very carefully to help it retain a little of its naturally dissolved carbon dioxide. This may result in a small amount of spritzig when first poured, accentuating the freshness and liveliness of the wine. The Wine Its colour is lemon straw. The engaging nose is richly fruited, with floral nuances, suggesting pineapple, quince and pear drop, melded with rose petal, linden and a whisp of saffron. In the mouth it is brightly structured, flaunting exuberance, combined with precision and finesse. Off dry in style, the textured palate is balanced by a splash of varietal acidity and integrated phenolics, that create length and a satisfying tension on the bittersweet close.</image:caption>

The juice was then fermented in stainless steel tanks, to preserve varietal integrity. A small portion of the fruit, however, was fermented naturally as whole bunches, then aged in old oak puncheons for approximately 3 months, to add additional complexity and structure. The Wine On release it has a bright lemon tint. Delightful perfume soars from the glass, suggestive of lychee, orange blossom and rose oil, along with spicy notes of cinnamon, potpourri and ginger. The wonderfully weighted palate displays excellent focus and drive, imbued with subtle sweetness and a dash of perky acidity, that radiates through the palate, delivering a long and quenching finish.</image:caption>

Vineyards have been selected for their quality and ability to express unique regional flavours. The Season Cooler and windier conditions during Spring meant lower crop levels, keeping fruit thinning to a minimum. The weather gods then handed us the opposite during Summer, with a warm and settled state prevailing, so this smaller crop was able to mature beautifully. Autumn was similarly favourable, allowing each variety to be picked at its optimum ripeness. Our 2024 harvest saw smaller yields across the board, but as a result we were blessed with intense fruit flavour and concentration, delivering some outstanding wines. The Harvest and Winemaking We use traditional Burgundian winemaking methods. The fruit was harvested in stages during the second half of March and early April, then gently pressed. It was regularly tasted during this time and the fermentation was stopped when the ideal balance was obtained. The Wine With a brilliant pale gold colour, Main Divide Chardonnay 2024 entices with a capt ivating bouquet of roasted stone fruits, hazelnut, white blossom and lemon pith, melded with charred nuances and flinty undertones. The palate displays succulent fruit intensity together with fleshy texture and rounded mouthfeel, complimented by a fine ribbon of acidity that weaves through the wine, adding structure and vibrancy. Elegant and wonderfully balanced, the finish is long and resonant, with a grapefruit twist.</image:title>

<image:caption>THE SEASON Settled weather during Spring resulted in successful flowering and a healthy fruit set, meaning crop thinning was needed in some areas. Good heat concentration in early to mid-Summer then allowed the grapes to ripen beautifully. The remainder of Summer and Autumn threw up a mix of hot days interspersed with cooler spells, although rain was sufficiently spread out to ensure the bunches remained healthy and disease free. THE HARVEST AND WINEMAKING Traditional Burgundian winemaking methods were used to make this wine. We picked the various blocks at different stages, depending on their maturity, aiming for a range of red and dark fruit flavours. Approximately 40% of the grapes were put at the bottom of the fermentation vats as whole bunches, with the balance being destemmed on top, retaining as many whole berries as possible. The vats were kept cool over the next few days to help extract the soft, silky tannins from the pinot noir skins. After approximately a week, the must started to ferment naturally. During fermentation the skins of the grapes were gently plunged twice daily. When the fermentation finished, the grape remnants were left to steep in the wine for up to a week to help extract a different range of tannins that add structure and depth. The exact duration of this period was determined by daily tasting. Subsequently the wine was gently pressed off and put into oak barriques (approx. 20% new), from selected artisan Burgundian coopers. In the summer after harvest, when the weather warmed, the wine underwent a natural malo-lactic (secondary) fermentation. After maturing for 18 months in these barriques, the wine was finally bottled. THE WINE At release it has a bright ruby complexion. On the refined nose you are greeted by delicate aromas of cherry, pomegranate, cinnamon and violet, meshed with nuances of wet stone, bonfire embers and a dash of aged soy. A fine acid backbone supports the savoury red fruit, backed by velvety tannins that enrich the palate, creating a sleek and silky mouthfeel. Brimming with finesse and vitality, it tapers to a lasting, focussed finish.</image:caption>

HARVEST AND WINEMAKING The grapes were picked in stages during the second half of March and first part of April. Some parcels were intentionally left to hang until later so they could be harvested with a portion of noble botrytis. The free run juice was then slowly fermented at cool temperatures to help the wine retain its vibrant fruit characters and varietal purity. During this time daily tasting was undertaken to assess levels of acidity, alcohol, and residual sweetness, with the fermentation being stopped once the right balance was achieved. Winemaking intervention was intentionally kept to a minimum to allow the vintage, variety, and vineyard to express itself harmoniously. At all stages, from fermentation to bottling, the wine was handled very carefully to help it retain a little of its naturally dissolved carbon dioxide. This may result in a small amount of spritzig, accentuating the freshness and liveliness of the wine. THE WINE On release it has a pale gold hue. Fragrant and perfumed, the nose offers a rich tapestry of orange blossom and jasmine, interwoven with hints of lime peel, spiced apple, white fleshed pleach and a lick of honey. The palate has a delicious engagement, with a spritzy mouthfeel, attractive sweetness and beautifully infused acidity. This may result in a small amount of spritzig when first poured, accentuating the freshness and liveliness of the wine. The Wine Pale gold in colour, the nose is vibrant and intensely aromatic. Tropical tones of lychee, cantaloupe melon and nashi pear, crest temptingly in a sea of perfume, floral and spice. Rose petal and honeysuckle awash the senses, infused with sage leaf, root ginger and droplets of almond nougat. The sprightly mouthfeel is texturised with ripe phenolics, balanced beautifully by fractional sweetness and a core of perky acidity, leading to a satisfying and structured finish.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Season Cooler and windier conditions during Spring meant lower crop levels, keeping fruit thinning to a minimum. The Harvest and Winemaking Picking occurred in late March. After arrival at the winery, the grapes were crushed and then left in contact with their skins for a short time to macerate. Following pressing, the juice was transferred into old oak puncheons, where it was left to ferment naturally. The wine was then matured for approximately 3 months in these barrels prior to bottling. The Wine Pale lemon in colour, it boasts a wonderfully aromatic nose, brimming with tropical and floral notes. Impressions of banana, melon and guava are spliced with rose petals, daphne, ginger and white pepper, along with an inkling of marzipan. Vibrant and assertive in the mouth, the palate is lush, yet finely textured and elegant. Subtle sweetness, engaging phenolics and refreshing acidity combine harmoniously to give the wine balance, structure, and a lasting, tangy finish.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Settled weather during Spring resulted in successful flowering and a healthy fruit set, meaning crop thinning was needed in some areas. Good heat concentration in early to mid-Summer then allowed the grapes to ripen beautifully. The remainder of Summer and Autumn threw up a mix of hot days interspersed with cooler spells, although rain was sufficiently spread out to ensure the bunches remained healthy and disease free. The Harvest and Winemaking We use traditional Burgundian winemaking methods. The fruit was harvested in late March and early April and then gently pressed. The non-clarified juice was then put into large French oak puncheons, where it underwent primary fermentation by the grapes’ natural yeasts. The wine was then matured in these puncheons on its own yeast lees (sur lie). In late spring after harvest, it started to go through spontaneous secondary (malolactic) fermentation. It was regularly tasted during this time and the fermentation was stopped when the ideal balance was obtained. The Wine Lemon straw in colour, the bouquet is rich and satisfying. Orchard fruits framed with delicate oak, vanilla, and hazelnut, spliced with touches of acacia and daphne flowers. A creamy satin textured mouthfeel, contrasting acid line and a nutty-biscuity quality combine to give the wine elegance and harmony. The palate is multi-layered and lavish, buttery yet supported by crisp minerality and a concentrated structure, leading to a long and juicy close.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Season Average weather over flowering resulted in a balanced crop, meaning no further fruit thinning was carried out. This was followed by a cooler than average summer which delayed ripening. Fortunately, a warm dry autumn allowed the grapes to be left on the vines till later in the season, where they were able to achieve the desired level of ripeness. The Harvest and Winemaking This wine is made in the same style as the celebrated Claret from Bordeaux, using traditional methods. After being picked during April and the beginning of May, the grapes began fermentation naturally in stainless steel tanks. During this process the juice was regularly pumped over the cap of floating grape skins (rather than plunging), to ensure a perfect tannin balance was extracted from the fruit. The wine was then gently pressed off and put into French oak barriques. The following summer, when the weather warmed, it underwent a natural malo-lactic (secondary) fermentation. After maturing in oak for 18 months, the various batches were then carefully blended to produce the most complex and balanced wine possible. The finished product is predominantly Merlot, with the balance made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, and a small amount of Malbec. The Wine Its colour is deep purple. The bouquet is a patchwork of dark forest fruit and earthy nuances. Suggestions of blackcurrant, boysenberry and damson plum are alluringly pitched against hints of cedar, olive tapenade, mocha and a touch of star anise. In the mouth there is generous fruit weight and stylish concentration, the wine’s full body complimented by ripe, spicy tannins and crackling acidity that adds focus and a satisfying tension. Intensifying across the palate, it lingers on the finish, enticing you back for more.</image:caption>

The remainder of Summer and Autumn threw up a mix of hot days interspersed with cooler spells, although rain was sufficiently spread out to ensure the bunches remained healthy and disease free. The Harvest and Winemaking The grapes were picked in stages during April. The Wine Upon release the colour is a vibrant ruby. An enticing medley of red fruit and earthy aromas rise gently from the glass, rhubarb, cherry, and pomegranate at the fore, flanked by impressions of tree moss, mushroom, wood spice, leather, and cinnamon, along with a trace of violet. The mouthfeel is plush and velvety, with fine grained, polished tannins and a tickle of refreshing acidity that sashays across the palate. Fragrant, savoury, and silky, this vintage has delivered a graceful and elegant wine, with a finely textured finish</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Season Settled weather over flowering provided a healthy fruit set, which was then thinned back to desired levels. The ensuing summer was dry with very little rain, resulting in perfectly ripened small berries full of intense flavour and concentration. Thankfully, our harvest was able to proceed during the C-19 lockdown, and an unbroken autumn full of warm days meant the fruit was picked at its optimum ripeness. The Harvest and Winemaking This wine is made in the same style as the celebrated Claret from Bordeaux, using traditional methods. After maturing in oak for 12 months, the various batches were then carefully blended to produce the most complex and balanced wine possible. The finished product is approximately 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.. The Wine On release it has a vibrant garnet tint. The nose is fruit-driven and spicy, brimming with aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and plum, supported by a savoury underlay of field mushroom, black olive, and liquorice, with flecks of tobacco leaf and a whisp of cinnamon. The mouthfeel is textured yet plush, with ripe tannins and a supple body balanced by a seam of refreshing acidity that gives the wine a sustained and invigorating finish. The Harvest and Winemaking The grapes were picked in stages during late March and early April. Some parcels were intentionally left to hang until later so they could be harvested with a portion of noble botrytis. The free run juice was then slowly fermented at cool temperatures to help the wine retain its vibrant fruit characters and varietal purity. During this time daily tasting was undertaken to assess levels of acidity, alcohol and residual sweetness, with the fermentation being stopped once the right balance was achieved. Winemaking intervention was intentionally kept to a minimum to allow the vintage, variety, and vineyard to express itself harmoniously. At all stages, from fermentation to bottling, the wine was handled very carefully to help it retain a little of its naturally dissolved carbon dioxide. This may result in a small amount of spritzig when first poured, accentuating the freshness and liveliness of the wine. The Wine Upon release its colour is bright lemon. The nose is a zestful medley of quince, lime, citrus blossom, and nectarine, wrapped in a steely mantle of flinty minerality. On the palate there is a lively tension, a rich and juicy mouthfeel balanced with gentle sweetness and a shot of refreshing acidity. Playful, yet full of finesse, the escapade closes with a lasting and piquant finish.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Season Cold weather during bud burst resulted in lower crop levels, hence no further fruit thinning was carried out. The subsequent warm dry summer served up perfectly ripened small berries full of intense flavour and concentration. Favourable conditions continued into autumn, allowing the fruit to be picked at its optimum ripeness. After maturing for 18mths in these barriques, the wine was finally bottled. The Wine Upon release it has a bright ruby hue. The nose is soft and inviting, slowly unfurling with nuances of tamarillo, pomegranate and gogi berry, interlaced with touches of vanilla, woodsmoke, lavender and an earthy, savoury underlay. The palate is sweetly fruited and supple, with plush polished tannins and a ripe, spice driven mouthfeel. An ethereal and elegant wine, coupled with a rounded body and splash of refreshing acidity that provides harmony and length, flowing perfectly through to its long, rewarding finish.</image:caption>

Vineyards have been selected for their quality and ability to express unique regional flavours. The Donaldson Family traces its Kiwi roots back hundreds of years. In keeping with this we have chosen to give our reserve range of wines ancestral names. This TE HAU Pinot Noir is named after our grandfather Henry Te Hau Tapu Nui o Tu Donaldson.</image:title>
The Harvest and Winemaking The fruit was sourced from our own Main Divide Te Hau vineyard, planted in Abel clone. Traditional Burgundian winemaking methods were used to make this wine. Once harvested, the grapes were carefully placed into vats, where they were kept cool for the first few days to help extract the soft, silky tannins from the pinot noir skins. After approximately a week, the must started to ferment naturally. During fermentation the skins of the grapes were gently plunged twice daily. In the summer after harvest, when the weather warmed, the wine underwent a natural malo-lactic (secondary) fermentation. After maturing for 12mths in these barriques, the wine was finally bottled. The Wine Upon release the colour is deep ruby. It is sweetly fruited and seductively savoury on the nose, displaying cranberry, pomegranate and spiced plum melded with smoked game, earthy mushroom, undergrowth, cinnamon, and star anise. The palate is concentrated, supple and fleshy, combining power and grace. Dark, rich, and brooding in the mouth, it has fine-grained tannins that add energy and drive. Vibrant acidity and luxurious length of flavour set the platform for a persistent and satisfying finish. This wine is another classic expression of our Te Hau site, displaying a perfect balance of both fruit weight and savoury complexity.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Season Settled weather in North Canterbury during December provided optimal conditions for flowering. A very hot summer then enabled the grapes to ripen beautifully. Our free draining stony soil helped mitigate the effects of some late summer rain, and the ensuing dry autumn meant the fruit was able to be picked in excellent condition. The Harvest and Winemaking This wine is made in the same style as the celebrated Claret from Bordeaux, using traditional methods. After being picked in April, the grapes began fermentation naturally in stainless steel tanks. During this process the juice was regularly drained and sprayed back over the cap of floating grape skins (rather than plunging), to ensure a perfect tannin balance was extracted from the fruit. The wine was then gently pressed off and put into French oak barriques (10% new). The following summer, when the weather warmed, it underwent a natural malo-lactic (secondary) fermentation. After maturing in oak for 18 months, the various batches were then carefully blended in varying portions to produce the most complex and balanced wine possible. The finished product is a blend of approximately 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malbec. The Wine Its colour is deep ruby, with tantalising dark fruit aromas of blackberry, cherry and plum. Intertwined with this are hints of chocolate, liquorice and vanilla, along with savoury notes of wood smoke and spice. The mouthfeel is silky and succulent, with ripe tannins that provide balance and structure. A long hot summer has delivered a beautifully crafted, harmonious wine, displaying both power and finesse.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Season Unsettled weather over flowering resulted in a lighter than average set, meaning that no further fruit thinning was necessary. A classic North Canterbury summer then enabled this smaller crop to mature beautifully. Accelerated ripening allowed harvest to take place slightly earlier than usual, and favourable autumn weather ensured the grapes were picked in perfect condition. The Harvest and Winemaking The grapes were purposely left to hang until late March and picked with a portion of noble botrytis. The free run juice was then slowly fermented at cool temperatures to help the wine retain its vibrant fruit characters and varietal purity. A concentrated core of citrus delights the nose, underscored with green apple, tamarind, potpourri, honeysuckle, and a hint of wet stone minerality. The palate is rich and symphonic, with layers of texture and flavour contrasted by sassy acidity and a hint of spritzig that give the wine a lively and energetic flow. Pre-ferment skin contact has added some additional structure together with ripe phenolics, balancing the wine and complementing its off-dry, spicy finish.</image:caption>

Vineyards have been selected for their quality and ability to express unique regional flavours.</image:title>
<image:caption>The Season Cold weather during bud burst resulted in lower crop levels, hence no further fruit thinning was carried out. The subsequent warm dry summer served up perfectly ripened small berries full of intense flavour and concentration. Favourable conditions continued into autumn, allowing each variety to be picked at its optimum ripeness. The Harvest and Winemaking We use traditional Burgundian winemaking methods. The fruit was harvested in late March and gently pressed. The non-clarified juice was then put into large French oak barriques, where it underwent primary fermentation by the grapes’ natural yeasts. The wine was then matured in these barriques on its own yeast lees (sur lie). In late spring after harvest, it started to go through spontaneous secondary (malolactic) fermentation. It was regularly tasted during this time and the fermentation was stopped when the ideal balance was obtained. The Wine On release its colour is pale gold. The bouquet is a beguiling merger of savoury, stone fruit and citrus. Aromas of lemon and peach intersect with lightly spiced oak, hazelnut and a hint of orange blossom. A whisper of struck match adds complexity and a flinty minerality. The mouthfeel is textured and creamy, with a superbly weighted palate. A seam of lively acidity provides the perfect partnership, paving the way for a long and attractive finish.</image:caption>

The Wine On release it has a bright lemon hue. Stone fruit and citrus aromas entice the nose, melded with honeysuckle and almonds, and hints of brioche. Beneath this is an underlay of flinty, wet stone minerality, and a whiff of gun smoke, adding a savoury complexity. The palate is perfectly pitched, its generous body complimented by vibrant and bright acidity, that creates a pleasing tension. Plush yet elegant, the encounter concludes with a prolonged and moreish finish.</image:caption>

This was followed by a cooler-than-average summer which delayed ripening. Fortunately, a warm dry autumn allowed the grapes to be left on the vines till later in the season, where they were able to achieve the desired level of ripeness. The Harvest and Winemaking Carefully selected grapes from a unique assemblage of complementary varieties were harvested to make this wine. The free run juice was given a small amount of skin contact to add some colour. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats at a cool temperature to retain varietal purity and freshness, with the wine being bottled shortly after. The Wine Upon release it has a pretty salmon pink hue. The nose is soft, fragrant and full, packed with aromas of red currant, strawberry, rhubarb and grapefruit, intertwined with flecks of white peach and a touch of elderflower. In the mouth it is dry and finely textured, supported by a seam of lively and refreshing acidity. The complementary varieties ensure the wine remains fleshy and supple, while also adding aroma and structure.</image:caption>

The Wine Upon release it is deep ruby in colour. The nose is a brooding amalgam of red fruit and savoury aromas. Tantalising impressions of raspberry, dark cherry and blood orange uncoil from the glass, shot with hints of earth, game, chocolate, violets and sweet spice. In the mouth it is gorgeously styled, rich and savoury on a silky fine palate. Tightly knit fruit and plush velvety tannins are perfectly balanced by a backbone of invigorating acidity that delivers outstanding structure and a lasting finish. Elegant yet powerful, in a way that Pinotphiles crave.</image:caption>

<image:title>All Tasting Notes - Merlot Cabernet 2019 - Main Divide is the local name for the Southern Alps and is the backbone of the South Island, where grapes for Main Divide are exclusively sourced. Vineyards have been selected for their quality and ability to express unique regional flavours.</image:title>
The Harvest and Winemaking This wine is made in the same style as the celebrated Claret from Bordeaux, using traditional methods. After being picked in late April, the grapes began fermentation naturally in stainless steel tanks. During this process the juice was regularly pumped over the cap of floating grape skins (rather than plunging), to ensure a perfect tannin balance was extracted from the fruit. The wine was then gently pressed off and put into French oak barriques (10% new). The following summer, when the weather warmed, it underwent a natural malo-lactic (secondary) fermentation. After maturing in oak for 12 months, the various batches were then carefully blended in varying portions to produce the most complex and balanced wine possible. The finished product is predominately Merlot, with the remainder comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. The Wine On release the colour is intense garnet, its nose a bewitching plethora of black fruit and savoury aromas. Dark cherry, blackcurrant and plum are straddled by earthy notes of truffle and leather, along with woodsmoke, mixed spice and a hint of wet gravel. The palate is full bodied yet succulent, the larger Merlot component providing plush, ripe, fine-grained tannins and generous fruit weight. Balancing this is a backdrop of structure and backbone afforded by the Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, arming the wine with appealing complexity, depth, and a lasting finish.</image:caption>

The subsequent warm dry summer served up perfectly ripened small berries full of intense flavour and concentration. The Wine Upon release the colour is deep garnet. The bouquet is an enticing potpourri of dark fruit and savoury notes. Cherry, tamarillo, and plum are interwoven with hints of pepper, liquorice, and cinnamon, rafted with wood spice, mushroom and a whisp of leather. In the mouth it is rich and concentrated, with fine grained tannins and refreshing acidity that adds structure and length, setting the stage for a prolonged and luxurious finish. This wine is another classic expression of our Te Hau site, displaying a perfect balance of both fruit weight and savoury complexity.</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - Main Divide New Zealand Music Compilation VOL. 5 - Flamingo Pier</image:title>
<image:caption>Serving up euphoric disco hooks, to classic house choruses and forays into Latin funk, balearic and psychedelia - New Zealand collective Flamingo Pier delivered their debut self-titled album in June 2021. In 2019 and 2020 they released two widely lauded EPs on Soundway Records, garnering support from Maribou State, Tim Sweeney, BBC 6 Music DJs, The Blessed Madonna, and JD Twitch to name a few. But like many artists in the last 12 months, the group had to navigate the unfamiliar territory of intermittent lockdowns to write and record an album in multiple locations across New Zealand, including the famed Roundhead Studios. The silver lining of this however, was that this was the first time that members Dominic, Brad and Luke were able to create the record in person together instead of collaborating over the internet - because usually at least one of them has been travelling overseas. The self-titled album draws from the band’s wide-ranging taste, as well as what they’ve been playing in order to keep spirits up. Channelling classic emotive house, to disco, Afro and jazz funk on their debut album, Flamingo Pier cite a wide range of musical influences such as Khruangbin, Roisin Murphy, Peven Everett, house legends Masters at Work and Brazilian artist Tim Maia. This translates into an uplifting but nostalgic current running throughout the album - reflecting on last chances, soul-searching and longing for the carefree days of the dance floor. <image:caption>A trailblazer in the New Zealand alternative landscape, Tāmaki Makaurau electronic producer and bass player Leaping Tiger is a pioneering experimental voice in a new wave of Kiwi artists. After the release of his debut album Porcelain Orca Whales in 2020 featuring the likes of local legends Church and AP, Disciple Pati, JY Lee and Maxwell Young, Leaping Tiger has been turning heads with his adventurous, slick, and genre-defying sound. <image:caption>Merk is the solo project of songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Perkins, which began when Perkins recorded 2016’s Swordfish (winner of Best Debut at the Taite Music Prize). His debut album showcased a knack for melody, based around guitars strummed to catchy perfection. While Swordfish introduced many of the qualities that Merk continues to cultivate, it’s on Infinite Youth that he comes fully into his own. Merk appear courtesy of Humblebrag Records. <image:caption>PollyHill is an MC, producer, and filmmaker, based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. Her music sits somewhere in the intersections between hip-hop, soundscape, and spoken word. As a producer, she gravitates towards lo-fi cinematic frequencies, as a wordsmith, she pushes word play and speaks from her own experiences. Thriving in the underground scene, Polly has played some of the country’s biggest festivals including Splore, Rhythm and Vines, Laneway (with Filth AKL) and the Others Way. Her most recent EP Post Humorous (released May 2021) had 4 of its 5 songs chart across various student radio networks for 14 consecutive weeks. Not afraid to call it how she sees it, PollyHill is carving her own lane in the music scene and earning stripes as she does. <image:caption>Making waves from his hometown, Hamilton, New Zealand and maintaining a relatively low key lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle, Rwandan-Kiwi rapper Raiza Biza has hustled a name for himself; built on relentless hard work, passion and perseverance. Building from the ground up, he has generated a worldwide following that has supported over five albums, and collaborations with Oddisee, Sampa The Great, Black Milk Melodownz, REMI, Illbaz, Estere, The Adults and countless other talents. Raiza has become a stable fixture in the underground hip-hop community of Aotearoa, which has seen him travel the world as an independent artist, bringing a piece of his home and experience to the far outside corners of the globe. With a passion for community and collective knowledge, his socially conscious rap style adds to the conversations of modern life as well as uplift and shape the party. <image:title>Music - Main Divide New Zealand Music Compilation VOL. 5 - Ria Hall</image:title>
<image:caption>Ria Hall is one of the strongest voices in NZ music, with a style and catalogue which show an artist willing to push boundaries. Combining both English and Te Reo Māori vocals, Hall creates epic soundscapes which embrace and challenge multiple genres. Hall’s debut self-titled EP signalled her arrival, winning multiple awards and critical acclaim. This followed with 2017’s release of her debut album Rules of Engagement. The album showcased Hall’s incredible talent as a vocalist and lyricist, and went to number one in the NZ Top 20 Album Charts upon release. One of the centrepieces of Rules of Engagement, Te Ahi Kai Po, saw Hall take home the APRA Maioha Award for Songwriting Excellence in Te Reo Māori. 2019 saw Hall return to the studio, working on a new reggae-infused album alongside Laughton Kora. Released in early 2020, Manawa Wera saw Hall collaborating with Kora, Troy Kingi, Rob Ruha, Warren Maxwell and more, creating a conscious 1970’s-inspired reggae/soul sound, while maintaining Hall’s unique style. Described as “everything anyone could want from a new release” and “a strong suite of songs from (an artist) who has truly found her groove”, the album saw Hall further establish herself as a crucial voice in the music scene. The strong reception to Manawa Wera has seen Hall take home the 2020 Waiata Māori Music Award for Best Female Solo Artist, to go alongside nominations for Best Māori Artist and Best Roots Artist at the 2020 Aotearoa Music Awards, and being named as a finalist for the prestigious Taite Music Prize 2021. Raised in New Zealand’s creative capital city and aged just 21, RIIKI arrived to the party in 2019 with first singles One Day and ZM-playlisted High Heights, co-produced by Simon Gooding (known for working with global artists such as P!nk, Dua Lipa and Migos). In 2020 RIIKI followed up with singles Share Your Luv and Good Times, the latter of which landed her first #1 on the Hot NZ Singles Chart. facebook.com/RiikiMusiic instagram.com/RiikiMusiic</image:caption>

<image:title>Music - Main Divide New Zealand Music Compilation VOL. 5 - Summer Thieves</image:title>
<image:caption>Known for their ability to start the party with their indie-pop inspired tunes, Summer Thieves have gone from playing Dunedin house parties to some of NZ’s biggest stages. The expanding catalogue has seen their following grow, with 2021 set to bring the release of their second album. Cutting their teeth as a ‘Scarfie’ covers band in NZ’s deep-south, Summer Thieves quickly began performing originals as their fanbase expanded. After releasing a run of singles, 2017 saw the release of their debut album, Warped, a 12-track journey laced with catchy hooks and hypnotic rhythms. 2020 saw the band return with an extended five-piece lineup, and the release of their anticipated follow-up EP, Bandaids and Lipsticks. The EP saw them expanding their indie sound, incorporating more of a polished-pop feel, while continuing to embrace their party-starting roots. Not wasting any time, the band immediately returned to the studio to begin work on a new full-length album, due late-2021. Summer Thieves appear courtesy of Loop Recordings Aot(ear)oa. <image:title>Music - Main Divide New Zealand Music Compilation VOL. 5 - Team Dynamite</image:title>
<image:caption>Six years ago Team Dynamite imploded, the consequence of a long-building ‘lack of self-care’. This year they rose from the ashes with the release of their album, Respect The Process, and a redemption tour. They formed in the late 2000s after aspiring teenage MCs Lucky Lance and Tony Teez decided to take hip hop beyond their weekend freestyle sessions at a local park. An introduction to producer Haz Beats provided the beats they were missing, and suddenly Team Dynamite was a legitimate group, building a reputation for dance-floor friendly hip hop and becoming mainstays of the Young Gifted and Broke collective. The group released The Demo Tape in 2010, Shepherds Delight in 2014 and Never Again EP in 2015. They’ve collaborated with a who’s who of New Zealand music including Che Fu, @peace, Laughton Kora and Bailey Wiley. Their high energy live show saw the group play major festivals, the opening slot for international acts Methodman and Redman and support to local acts such as Fat Freddy’s Drop and Ladi 6.
